Who left Love Island? Full list of underrated contestants in the 2022 series
The Love Island season is in full swing with viewers tuning in to ITV2 at 9pm every night so they don’t miss a thing from the villa. The popular dating show is in its eighth series and sees a group of bachelors spend a summer in Mallorca trying to find love and earn £50,000 in the process.
Members of the initial roster included Swansea paramedic Paige Thorne, international dressage rider Gemma Owen, who is the daughter of footballing legend Michael Owen, and Newport student Liam Llewellyn, who quit after the first week. You can read more about his decision to leave, here.
Many bombshells have also entered the villa this year, including Davide Sanclimenti, Jay Younger and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, and while there are undoubtedly more new contestants to come, the series also had to say goodbye to some islanders.

But who has left the Love Island 2022 villa so far? Here’s everything you need to know, and we’ll keep this article updated as the series continues.
Rémi Lambert – dropped
The model and rapper was the second islander to be dropped from the 2022 series. The 22-year-old entered the villa like a bombshell alongside Jay Younger, but his trip was cut short.
Remi was dropped from the show during a re-coupling which saw Danica Taylor choose Luca Bish, while Gemma Owen – who remained single after Luca was stolen – chose to re-couple with Davide Sanclimenti.
Along with all the other confirmed couples, including Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Jay Younger, the Remi bombshell was kicked out of the villa. After his release, he spoke to host Laura Whitmore on Love Island: Aftersun, you can read more about that here.
Afia Tonkmor – dumped
Afia was the first candidate to be dropped from the villa. The 25-year-old was sent home after bombshell Jacques O’Neill opted to team up with Welsh paramedic Paige Thorne.
The dumping came after Liam Llewellyn left the villa, leaving more girls in the villa than boys. Paige and Afia were given a lifeline in the form of Jacques, but the newcomer ultimately decided to team up with Paige, sending Afia home.
Liam Llewellyn – resign
The student, from Newport, left the show the first week after telling his fellow islanders he hadn’t given “100% Liam”.
The 22-year-old student, who is the son of a Welsh rugby international, has announced he is quitting the ITV2 dating show after just five days. Gathering his fellow islanders around the fire pit, he said: “Obviously we all came here for the same kind of reason, but I didn’t give Liam 100 per cent. I know what Liam is 100 per cent and I’m miles out of that.
“Trying to find someone you leave the villa with and love is the goal. But when you don’t feel that, it’s very hard to find that. I thought long and hard, that’s is not a whim, so I made the decision to leave the villa.”
Love Island continues at 9 p.m. on ITV2 and ITV Hub. The episodes are available the next morning on BritBox. For more showbiz and TV stories, get our newsletter here.
