The Benilde Virtual Library expands its catalog with thousands of new e-books for students
A significant collection of over 19,700 documents from Wiley, the world leader in publishing, education and research, has recently been added to the ever-expanding Virtual Library at De La Salle College Saint Benilde.
Founded in 1807, American multinational publishing company Wiley has made significant contributions to bridging the higher education gap through an impressive assemblage of educational and professional learning titles from revered scholars and organizational partners and bestsellers from renowned authors.

The Fidelis Leddy Center for Learning Resources now offers new digital textbooks covering a variety of disciplines, including Mathematics and Statistics, Life and Earth Sciences, Food Sciences, Health and Medical Sciences, Psychology and psychiatry, veterinary medicine, chemistry, physics and biology.
The wide range of selections also includes in-demand and industry-relevant topics in computing and technology, emergency management, business, finance, engineering, and education. .
It also has the latest editions of the main titles in hospitality and gastronomy, graphic design, architecture and interior design, social sciences, humanities and world languages, among others.
The subscription allows Benildeans to browse textbooks on the platform, with enhanced reading features such as read aloud, highlight, note, translate and offline reading capability for Windows, Android and iOS.
This is the college’s response to the increased need for electronic books and sources amid ongoing online modalities, to further support distance learning, research, self-study and intellectual stimulation amid closures.
The growing online database includes exclusive access to over 24 million free downloadable e-books, journals, references, collections and industry reports, as well as datasets from reputable agencies, as well as to 1.5 million additional sources for free lending from the Internet Archive’s online library.
The institution recently signed up to Material ConneXion (MCX), a leading design authority that provides more than 10,000 innovative materials from more than 7,000 global manufacturers across 75 industries, including fashion, furniture, architecture, automotive and beauty.
Students and staff are also entitled to digital subscriptions to the giant trend forecasting and analysis websites WGSN and Business of Fashion (BoF). WGSN provides an immense body of fashion, lifestyle, hospitality, interior and retail insights and inspiration from over 250 trend experts and scientists from around the world. The BoF offers a plethora of exclusive content, training courses and events on the latest global headlines in sustainability, luxury, beauty, retail and technology, among others.
Available e-resources can be seamlessly integrated by instructors into BigSky, the college’s official learning management system, for an effective student online learning experience. It serves as a portal to participate in class discussions and access activities and projects.
